ANCITEL S.P.A. is a company established in 1987 and dedicated to bring innovation and modernisation to the Italian Municipalities and Local Authorities.
It has become the main service provider of ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) which is an historical association operating inside the Municipality system and now supporting and promoting the introduction of new information and communication technologies.
Ancitel, strictly linked to ANCI, has rapidly grown, it has increased its professionalism and it has become an important reference on the Information Technology market.

At the beginning the core of Ancitel activity was projecting and distributing Information Technology services, training and consulting the local personnel within the reform framework of the Local Public Administrations. Videotel, before the coming of Internet, represented the main information and communication instrument supporting the local Administrations and it has been chosen and frequently used by Ancitel also because it was public, it didn't involved high costs and it was extremely accessible.

One of the most provided services today is "Anci Risponde" (IT consulting service) that answers thousands of questions addressed every year by the Municipalities to our experts.

Nowadays many functions are being transferred from the central to the local Administrations. We are facing not only laws and regulations changing but also increasing requirements and competences inside the Municipalities, therefore it is necessary to focus our sensitivity and commitment to set up in advance the most helpful solutions to take effective and efficient part in the changing process. Today Ancitel is able, through its monitoring system to listen to every Municipality need and to propose new instruments, operation models and winning solutions in accordance with the dimensions and the different natures of territory.

The quality of our service is daily appreciated not only by the small local districts but also by a large number of Region and Province Administrations. Moreover Ancitel is involved in about twenty different projects financed by the Central Public Administration and it is one of the main company working on the C.I.E (Electronic - Identity - Card) experiment.

The company cooperates with the principal National Institutes as: Ministero dell'Interno, Dipartimento Funzione Pubblica, Ministero per le Attivitą Produttive, Ministero per l'Innovazione e le Tecnologie, Ministero del Lavoro e delle Politiche Sociali, Garante per la Privacy, FORMEZ, ISTAT, INAIL.
We are working for extending our collaboration towards other important Institutes of our Country.

As demonstration of authority and high level of reliability, the Chamber of Deputies entrusted Ancitel with the management and the constant updating of the database containing every law issued by the Italian Regions and the Independent Provinces.

In the European contest Ancitel has reached, on IT service field, a lead role acknowledged by all European companies that are composing ELANET, an association whose Chairmanship is held by an Ancitel representative since the original constitution.
